This was an experience our members will not forget as they ate lunch in pitch-black darkness, to get a feel of what our visually handicapped friends’ reality everyday. Thank you to the Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped for this eye-opening experience.
From the SAVH website:
The ‘Dining In the Dark’ experience is organised by the Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped (SAVH) to raise public awareness of the challenges that persons with vision impairment face in their daily activities. A sighted person can experience what it is like to be blind without the use of blindfolds. As you support SAVH and this initiative, you are also contributing your share towards a more inclusive society, as the blind servers and kitchen helpers acquire skills for them to be employable, earn their living, gain self-reliance and independence and live with dignity! #GHdineinthedark #GHoutreach
